The 5 Best Places to Grab Coffee in Alpharetta

There really is something about that first cup of coffee in the morning. Good news; you don’t have to go far to find a great local coffee shop here in Alpharetta. Whether you’re looking for a latte, espresso, drip coffee, or seasonal drinks, you can find it here. While there are many great options, these are five of my favorite local spots.

Warm Waves – Located off Main Street in Downtown Alpharetta, Warm Waves is a family-owned shop that roasts their coffee locally. The family originally started by selling their roasted coffee at the local farmers market before opening their own shop. The shop itself is an older renovated home that still maintains a warm and cozy feeling. There are plenty of places to sit, especially if the weather is nice, but this place is popular, so go early if you want to secure a spot.

  • My go-to order is a Flat White or a Shot In The Dark if I really need a little extra caffeine. They always have great seasonal specials too!

Valor – Another downtown Alpharetta favorite, Valor is located off Milton Avenue. I don’t know how else to describe this place that it’s just fun. The energy is high, music is up, and staff is super friendly. Of course, the coffee is great too. They roast it in-house. Plus, the pastries are straight from Alon’s Bakery, so you really can’t go wrong. Though, if you’re looking to have a quiet conversation, you’ll want to sit on the patio outside.

  • My go-to order is a Lavender Oat Milk Latte (Hot). Not going to lie, it took some convincing to get me to try it (definitely not usually a lavender kind of girl) but I will never go back. The breakfast burritos they serve on the weekends are also 10/10.

Nest – Located in downtown Alpharetta with a newer second location in Crabapple, Nest has some great coffee but also a full kitchen if you’re looking for a full breakfast too. Their lattes are delicious but they are also known for their beautiful designs. Also popular are their beignets and croissant sandwiches. Plus, if you’d rather start the day with a mimosa, you have that option too.

  • My go-to order is an Oat Milk Latte with a chocolate chip biscotti. For breakfast, I go with the California Croissant, a croissant with egg, cheese, bacon, avocado, and chipotle mayo…always.

Pops Coffee Co. – Technically just over the Alpharetta line into Roswell, I still couldn’t leave this Pops Coffee Co off the list. Located off Alpharetta Highway and directly next to Triumph Roswell, a motorcycle dealership, the shop has some seriously cool biker vibes. Plus, this is my favorite place for a meeting or to knock out some work because there is always plenty of seating (and outlets). Plus, the coffee, food, and service are all incredible.

  • My go-to order is the Toffee Nut Latte but I’ll also vouch for their pour-over coffee.

Fuel – Just north of Downtown Alpharetta, Fuel is located off Main Street, just south of Windward Parkway. A locally owned shop with high quality coffee and house-made pastries, you can also get a full breakfast here too. This shop has a great atmosphere, and the staff is always friendly. As a true millennial, I can also appreciate their array of avocado toast options.

  • My go-to here is the Super Veloce (espresso, hazelnut, sweet cream, and Italian chocolate shavings). Charlie is also a huge fan of their blueberry muffins.
